Before you apply: a five-minute check
A short job post can still give you enough information to decide whether it deserves your time. Pause before applying and check these five things.
3 MIN READ1. Can you explain the actual work?
A job title is not enough. Look for the daily duties, the workplace, and who you will report to. If the description is vague, ask before sharing more information.
2. Can you reach the workplace?
Check the exact city or barangay, likely travel time, transport cost, and whether the schedule ends after your usual ride home.
3. Is the schedule clear?
Confirm working days, start and finish times, breaks, and whether the job is full-time, part-time, temporary, or paid per project.
4. Is the pay explained?
Look for the amount, whether it is daily, weekly, monthly, or per project, and when it will be paid. Ask what deductions may apply.
5. Is the employer identifiable?
Check the company name and contact details. Never pay an application or placement fee, and do not send passwords or verification codes.
- Keep screenshots of the job post and conversation.
- Meet at a real workplace or safe public place.
- Tell someone you trust where you are going.
