What does pure tablea mean?
Tablea is familiar in Filipino kitchens, but a buyer still needs a clear definition. The Philippine standard gives us a useful starting point.
3 MIN READThe basic definition
Pure tablea is made from fermented cacao beans that are dried, roasted, ground, and moulded without added ingredients or additives. Sweetened tablets may be useful products, but they should not be described as pure tablea.
Origin still matters
Ask where the cacao was grown and whether the processor buys from its own farm, named growers, a cooperative, or the open market.
Processing changes the result
Fermentation, drying, roasting, grinding, moulding, storage, and packaging all affect consistency. A supplier should be able to describe its own process in plain language.
