Pili, cashew, and macadamia: compare the offer, not only the nut
Pili is often introduced beside cashew and macadamia because buyers already understand those categories. The comparison is useful, but it should lead to better questions rather than unsupported claims of superiority.
5 MIN READRecognition changes the first conversation
Cashew and macadamia already have familiar names and established uses in many markets. Pili may need a short explanation, but unfamiliarity can also create curiosity when the product is presented clearly.
Compare the same product form
Raw kernels, roasted kernels, flavoured snacks, confectionery ingredients, and premium gift packs should not be compared as if they were identical. Use the same net weight, processing level, packaging, and sales channel.
Taste is only one part of the decision
A buyer may also consider breakage, consistency, shelf life, allergen labelling, minimum order, supply capacity, lead time, and the documents required in the destination market.
Choose a role the product can own
Pili does not need to replace every established nut. It may fit a discovery snack, a Philippine-origin gift, a premium bar pairing, a mixed daily-nut pack, or a distinctive ingredient—each with different buyers and economics.
