From wholesale price to landed cost
A wholesale quote can look attractive until the product has travelled, cleared the destination requirements, reached a warehouse, and been prepared for sale. A simple landed-cost sheet keeps the comparison honest.
4 MIN READDefine the quoted product
Record the exact item, net weight, packaging, currency, minimum order, quotation validity, and whether the price is ex-works, delivered locally, or based on another trade term.
Add movement and border costs
Include transport to the export point, international freight, insurance where applicable, customs-broker charges, duties, taxes, inspection, registration, and handling fees.
Add the cost of becoming sellable
Relabelling, Korean information, outer cartons, warehousing, payment fees, marketplace commissions, domestic delivery, damaged units, samples, and returns can materially change the result.
Test more than one quantity
Calculate a small sample shipment, a realistic first commercial order, and a larger order. Lower freight per unit does not help if excess inventory expires or sells slowly.
